The European Commission is today making public a letter which was sent recently to the CEOs of six international car rental companies which offer their services to consumers in all Member States of the European Union.

The ECC Poland visited a Polish consumer who bought for her son professional football shoes in the German online shop. Boy was playing in the footwear less than two months, when he discovered the crack of the material. The shoes cost more than 500 PLN so, they were relatively expensive.

Five major car rental companies have agreed to significantly review how they treat consumers thanks to a joint action from the European Commission and national enforcement authorities. Citizens will benefit from more clarity on insurance policies and tank refuelling options, more fairness when handling damages, and more price transparency. Complaints related to car rentals received by the European Consumer Centres have increased sharply in the last two years.

If in the course of the conducted case, the ECC encounters collective cross-border infringement of the consumers interests, reports it to the CPC-Net (network of consumer protection authorities of the EU Member States). So it was in the case of a consumer who was traveling with Hungarian airlines.

During World Youth Day (WYD) which will be celebrated from July 25–31 in Poland, the pilgrims from the EU states, Norway and Iceland, in case of facing trouble with purchasing goods or services, can contact directly European Consumer Centre in Poland (ECC Poland).

European Consumer Centre in Poland is a part of the ECC-Net, a network of 30 centres, responsible for providing information about consumer rights in the European Union and helping in solving individual problems – consumer complaints related to cross-border transactions.

Zakup podrabianych produktów łączy się nie tylko z posiadaniem złej jakości towaru, ale też może być ryzykowny dla zdrowia. 26 kwietnia obchodzimy Światowy Dzień Własności Intelektualnej z tej okazji Sieć Europejskich Centrów Konsumenckich (ECC-Net) przyjrzała się sprzedaży podrabianych towarów w UE.
