Especially for the summer holidays the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net) launches a unique mobile application: the ECC-Net: Travel App. It is an indispensable travel companion inside the European Union as well as in Iceland and Norway: the application helps consumers to cope with difficult situations on their holiday abroad and to express their consumer rights in the language of the destination country. The ECC-Net: Travel App provides legal knowledge and language support in 23 EU languages plus Norwegian and Icelandic.
The different topics are: retail purchases, car rental, hotel accommodation, medical treatment, air and rail transport as well as bus and marine travel. A section with useful information offers important phone numbers and contact details for every day emergencies. The app is free of charge and works offline to avoid the roaming trap.
The ECC-Net: Travel App is a joint project of all 30 members of the ECC-Net. There is a European Consumer Centre in every EU member state as well as in Norway and Iceland offering free consumer help and advice. The Centres are co-funded by the European Union.
