The online competition held under slogan „I love Europe”, supervised by European Commission was aimed at young graphic arts students living in any of the Member States of the European Union. The participants were asked to create a poster on the theme of „I love Europe” in which they could express their feelings connected with European Union.
European jury consisted of representatives from the European Commission and European experts in graphic design and communication had selected 10 designs to be published on the website of the competition and voted by the public. The unique and original design by Polish student of the Poznan Academy of Fine Arts received 416974 points (much more than others) which enabled it to win the first prize of 2,000 euro.
The poster by representative of Poland will be printed in thousands of copies, translated into 23 official EU languages and distributed in 27 EU member states. Maria Mileńko will be invited to Brussels for the prize-giving ceremony and the celebrations of Europe Day on May 9.
