Voucher or money?

At the end of February a Polish consumer rented a car in Marseille. He paid 315 euros. Due to the coronavirus epidemic, he resigned from the trip. According to the contract, he could cancel his reservation free of charge until 2 June. Trying to do so, he was constantly encountering technical problems, the page said “An error occurred during the appeal process.” He suspected that the company was deliberately hindering his resignation. He turned to ECC in Poland for help.

The case was sent to ECC France, which reminded the trader that under French law he should at least offer a voucher for implementation within 18 months. The consumer refused to accept this solution anyway and demanded a refund. After another intervention of the French center, he received his money back.
