A customer of a German online store, dynamically operating in Poland, bought an engagement ring for his beloved woman for 3808.95 PLN (nearly 900 euro). The parcel was delivered after 2 weeks, but there was no ring in the box… The trader kept postponing giving a specific explanation. The consumer did not want his future wife to wait. Informed the consumer ombudsman and the police about the incident. It occurred that the company had only a warehouse in Poland, but it was registered in Germany. Therefore the European Consumer Centre turned out to be the right entity and there, in the end, the unlucky client received effective help. After the intervention of ECC Poland and ECC Germany, the money was returned to him.
