Teenager and mom’s phone

A consumer reported to ECC Poland that her 15-year-old daughter had unintentionally created a company account on a popular app for discovering and saving inspirational photos. The girl’s mother only realized when the trader started sending emails informing her of the overdue charges. She changed the ifnormation on the account providing the actual date of birth of her daughter. This resulted in its deactivation, but the company continued to send requests for payment.

The consumer contacted the company, indicating that her daughter did not have the capacity to enter into the contract. She received no response.

After ECC-Net intervention, the company decided that it had no claim against the consumer and stopped collection.
